Brown sugar is an unrefined sugar and the first sugar extracted from sugarcane juice. Brown in color due to molasses, a substance found in sugarcane, and with medium to large crystals, it is obtained directly from purified sugarcane juice. It has a slight aroma of rum and vanilla, making it ideal for cookies, coffee desserts, custard, spiced bread, or for sprinkling on baked fruit.
