1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

This text establishes the conditions of sale and operation of the online store Mercearia de Portugal, represented by the company Corrente de Saudade Unipessoal Lda., Tax Identification Number (NIF) 513864610, with its registered office at Rua do Ferragial nº 1, 7000-162 Évora.

Mercearia de Portugal markets a selection of food and other products in the domestic and international market via the Internet.


2. PAYMENT METHODS

Orders can be paid for via bank transfer, credit card (through the PayPal platform), PayPal account, or a Multibanco reference generated at the time of the order.

Payments made via PayPal or Multibanco reference allow for immediate confirmation.
Payments made by bank transfer require confirmation of good receipt, which may take between 2 to 3 business days after the transfer is made.

However, sending proof of bank transfer is accepted as proof of payment, allowing the shipping process to be accelerated.
Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to accept or refuse the proof as valid evidence of payment and to wait for the necessary time until confirmation of good receipt.


3. ORDERS

Orders at Mercearia de Portugal can be placed by anyone aged 18 or over. All products will be shipped unless out of stock.

The product descriptions present in the online store are based on information provided by the manufacturers or suppliers. The images presented on the site are for illustrative purposes only, and there may be slight variations in relation to the product delivered, which does not constitute a valid reason for return, provided that the product corresponds to the essential characteristics described.

We guarantee the conformity of the marketed products in accordance with applicable legislation. All brands, models, and product names are registered trademarks of their respective owners.

The customer may cancel their order only until the moment of shipment, via email at info@merceariadeportugal.com. After shipment, the order is considered to be in transit.

In the event of a stockout of any product, we will attempt to contact the customer for instructions. If it is not possible to establish contact within 24 hours after the order, the product may be replaced by an equivalent one of equal or greater value.


4. SHIPPING

Orders are dispatched, under normal conditions, within an estimated timeframe of 48 to 72 business hours after confirmation of payment. This timeframe may vary during periods of high order volume, holiday seasons, promotional campaigns, stockouts, or due to other exceptional circumstances.

All products are carefully packaged and conditioned according to their characteristics to preserve their safety and quality during transport.

After shipment, the customer will receive a tracking number that will allow them to monitor the status and location of the order via the carrier's website. The delivery dates or estimates presented by the carrier or communicated at the time of shipment are merely indicative and may change. These estimates do not exempt the customer from regularly checking order tracking and following any updates, delivery attempts, or requests for information from the carrier.

It is the customer's responsibility to provide a correct, complete, and accessible address, as well as a valid telephone number and email address. The customer must also ensure that someone is present at the indicated address during the carrier's usual delivery hours.

Mercearia de Portugal cannot be held responsible for delays, failed deliveries, returns, or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information, absence of the recipient, failure to follow tracking, impossibility of contacting the customer, or non-compliance with instructions communicated by the carrier.

Whenever an order is returned for one of these reasons, any reshipment will be subject to the payment of the respective transport costs.


5. TRANSPORT PRICES

Transport costs are calculated based on the weight and destination of the order and are presented at the end of the purchasing process.
Prices can be consulted in the Transport tab on the homepage and are subject to change.


6. DELIVERY TIMES

The delivery times indicated on merceariadeportugal.com are expressed in business days, are merely indicative, and are provided by the carriers.

a) Delivery Delays Due to Carrier Responsibility

After the order is dispatched and delivered to the carrier, Mercearia de Portugal is not responsible for any delivery delays attributable to the carrier, namely during periods of high shipment volumes, holiday seasons, promotional campaigns, adverse weather conditions, strikes, or other external factors.

The deadlines indicated on the site do not constitute a binding commitment.

b) Cancellations, Refunds, and Orders in Transit

It is not possible to cancel orders or request a refund while the order is in transit with the carrier.

If the customer wishes to cancel the order after it has been shipped, they must wait for its receipt and, subsequently, exercise the right of return under the applicable legal terms.

In these cases, the initial shipping costs and the return costs are entirely the responsibility of the purchasing customer and are non-refundable. The refund will be made after the receipt of the goods in perfect condition.

c) Cancellations Due to Delivery Delay

Requests for cancellation, refund, or return based solely on delivery delays by the carrier are not accepted, provided that the order was dispatched within the normal processing times by Mercearia de Portugal, which may vary depending on the time of year.

Whenever an abnormal delay occurs, Mercearia de Portugal commits to monitoring the situation with the carrier and providing the necessary support until the delivery is completed.

7. EXCHANGES AND REPLACEMENTS

In case of stockout, Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to exchange or replace products up to a value of €10.00 with a similar product from another brand. If the customer does not authorize this substitution, they must inform us in advance.

8. RETURNS AND RIGHT OF FREE WITHDRAWAL

Under the terms of Decree-Law no. 24/2014, the customer has a period of 14 days from the receipt of the order to exercise the right of free withdrawal, provided that the products are in the same condition as they were sent.

The return of the goods is the responsibility of the purchasing customer.
The refund will be made after confirmation of the receipt of the returned products in perfect condition.

9. TAXES, DUTIES, AND CUSTOMS RESTRICTIONS

Orders destined for countries outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or other legal charges in the destination country. These costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Mercearia de Portugal cannot predict such charges, and it is the customer's responsibility to inform themselves in advance about the restrictions and taxes applicable in their country of residence.

10. PRICES

The prices shown include VAT at the legal rate in force, excluding shipping costs.
Buyers from non-EU countries and entities with a valid tax identification number in the European Union may benefit from a VAT exemption, under the applicable legal terms.

Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to change prices and shipping costs at any time.

11. PRIVACY POLICY

The data provided by customers are treated confidentially and used exclusively for the processing and shipment of orders, in accordance with current data protection legislation.

The customer may, at any time, request the alteration, update, or deletion of their data.
