1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
This text establishes the terms and conditions of sale and operation of the online store Mercearia de Portugal , represented by the company Corrente de Saudade Unipessoal Lda. , NIF 513864610, with registered office at Rua do Ferragial nº 1, 7000-162 Évora.
Mercearia de Portugal sells a selection of food and other products in the national and international markets via the Internet.
2. PAYMENT METHODS
Orders can be paid for via bank transfer, credit card (through the PayPal platform), PayPal account, or Multibanco reference generated at the time of ordering.
Payments made via PayPal or Multibanco Reference allow for immediate confirmation.
Payments made via bank transfer require confirmation of successful collection, which can take between 2 and 3 business days after the transfer is made.
However, sending bank transfer receipts as proof of payment is accepted, allowing for faster shipping.
Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to accept or reject the receipt as valid proof of payment and to wait the necessary time until confirmation of successful payment.
3. ORDERS
Orders can be placed at Mercearia de Portugal by anyone aged 18 or older. All products will be shipped unless there is a stock shortage.
The product descriptions in the online store are based on information provided by the manufacturers or suppliers. The images shown on the website are for illustrative purposes only and may differ slightly from the delivered product, which does not constitute a valid reason for return, provided that the product matches the essential characteristics described.
We guarantee that the products we sell comply with applicable legislation. All brands, models, and product names are registered trademarks of their respective owners.
The customer may cancel their order only until the time of shipment , via email at info@merceariadeportugal.com. After dispatch, the order is considered to be in transit.
In the event of a product being out of stock, we will attempt to contact the customer for instructions. If we are unable to establish contact within 24 hours of the order, the product may be replaced with an equivalent product of equal or greater value.
4. SHIPPING
Shipments are normally completed within 48 to 72 hours after payment confirmation. All products are properly packaged and secured to ensure their safety and quality upon arrival.
The address provided by the customer must ensure that someone is available to receive the order during business hours. The recipient's absence may result in additional charges from the shipping company.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the address provided is correct and complete. Mercearia de Portugal is not responsible for delays or returns resulting from incorrect or incomplete information.
5. TRANSPORTATION COSTS
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and destination of the order and are displayed at the end of the purchase process.
Prices can be found in the Shipping tab on the homepage and are subject to change.
6. DELIVERY TIMES
The delivery times indicated on merceariadeportugal.com are expressed in working days, are merely indicative, and are provided by the carriers.
a) Delivery Delays Due to the Carrier's Responsibility
After the order has been dispatched and delivered to the carrier, Mercearia de Portugal is not responsible for any delivery delays attributable to the carrier, particularly during periods of high shipping volume, holidays, promotional campaigns, adverse weather conditions, strikes, or other external factors.
The deadlines indicated on the website do not constitute a binding commitment.
b) Cancellations, Refunds and Orders in Transit
It is not possible to cancel orders or receive a refund while the order is in transit with the carrier.
If the customer wishes to cancel the order after it has been shipped, they must wait to receive it and then exercise their right of return in accordance with applicable legal terms.
In these cases, the initial shipping and return costs are entirely the responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable. The refund will be issued after the merchandise is received in perfect condition.
c) Cancellations due to Delivery Delay
Cancellation, refund, or return requests based solely on delivery delays by the carrier are not accepted, provided the order was shipped within Mercearia de Portugal's normal processing times, which may vary depending on the time of year.
Whenever there is an unusual delay, Mercearia de Portugal is committed to monitoring the situation with the carrier and providing the necessary support until the delivery is completed.
7. EXCHANGES AND REPLACEMENTS
In the event of a stock shortage, Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to exchange or replace products up to a value of €10.00 with a similar product from another brand. If the customer does not authorize this replacement, they must inform us in advance.
8. RETURNS AND RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
Under Decree-Law No. 24/2014 , the customer has 14 days from receipt of the order to exercise the right of withdrawal, provided that the products are in the same condition as when they were shipped.
The return of merchandise is the responsibility of the purchasing customer.
The refund will be processed after confirmation that the returned products have been received in perfect condition.
9. TAXES, FEES AND CUSTOMS RESTRICTIONS
Orders destined for countries outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or other legal charges in the destination country. These costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
Mercearia de Portugal cannot predict such charges, and it is the customer's responsibility to find out in advance about the restrictions and fees applicable in their country of residence.
10. PRICES
The prices shown include VAT at the current legal rate, excluding shipping costs.
Buyers from non-EU countries and entities with a valid tax identification number in the European Union may benefit from VAT exemption, under applicable legal terms.
Mercearia de Portugal reserves the right to change prices and shipping costs at any time.
11. PRIVACY POLICY
The data provided by customers is treated confidentially and used exclusively for processing and shipping orders, in accordance with current data protection legislation.
The customer may, at any time, request the modification, updating, or deletion of their data.
