Monsaraz Grande Reserva White Wine - Limited Edition
75 cl | DOC Alentejo | 2023 | Limited edition of 3,300 bottles
The Monsaraz Grande Reserva White 2023 reveals an elegant and complex expression of the Alentejo. Produced by CARMIM, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, it combines the Antão Vaz and Viosinho grape varieties in a limited edition of only 3,300 bottles, intended for those who appreciate white wines with structure, freshness, and depth.
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo approximately 12 hours of skin maceration to extract the aromatic compounds from the skins. After pressing and clarification of the free-run juice, fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. This is followed by an 18-month aging period in the same barrels, with bâtonnage after fermentation, which contributes to the wine's texture and complexity.
With a crystalline appearance and a defined citrine color, it presents aromas of ripe white fruit, dried nuts, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it reveals itself to be structured and intense, maintaining a freshness that balances the whole and leads to a long and persistent finish.
At the table, it pairs well with oven-baked fish, cod dishes with balsamic notes, and semi-cured cheeses. A white wine to be savored slowly during a special meal, or to offer to those who enjoy discovering great Portuguese wines.
