The Monsaraz Grande Reserva Red 2021 is a limited-production wine that invites you to discover the Alentejo at your own pace. Produced by CARMIM in Reguengos de Monsaraz, it brings together depth, freshness, and complexity in an edition of only 5,500 bottles, designed for special moments and for those who appreciate wines with aging potential.
The blend combines Alicante Bouschet (40%), Touriga Nacional (20%), Petit Verdot (20%), and Syrah (20%). After vinification, the wine is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels, followed by a minimum period of 12 months in the cellar after bottling — a maturation process that gives it structure and complexity.
With an intense garnet color, it displays aromas of ripe black fruits, highlighting blackberries and plums, wrapped in notes of spice. On the palate, it is broad and deep, with freshness, good structure, and a long, persistent finish.
At the table, it pairs well with lamb stew, Alentejo pork dishes, red meats, cured sausages, and cured or semi-cured cheeses. A distinguished choice for a special meal, for gifting, or for storing in your wine cellar.
