José Rodrigues dos Santos - The Governor's Lover

After attacking Pearl Harbor and invading Hong Kong, the Japanese lay siege to Macau. With the enemy at their gates, the new governor, Artur Teixeira, must face the greatest threat to the Portuguese empire during World War II. Facing him is Colonel Sawa, the violent leader of the Kempeitai, who threatens to invade the Portuguese colony in China.

To save Macau, the governor relies only on his ingenuity—and the help of a handful of men and women, including Colonel Sawa's own concubine, the Chinese woman Lian Hua. Everything becomes complicated, however, when he falls in love with her.
