Scala Coeli wine (which in Latin means "stairway to Heaven") owes its name to the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, commonly known as the Carthusian Monastery, a place where Carthusian monks remain in silence and prayer.
Scala Coeli is a Regional Alentejo Wine, produced in small quantities, obtained from the best fermentations of each year, of a variety or a blend of foreign varieties that are less traditional in the region.
