Roaming freely in the montados, where it feeds primarily on acorns, the Alentejo pig, a native Portuguese species, is the only surviving grazing pig in Europe. Because of its distinctive character and preservation of the region's Mediterranean forest, it is a heritage of the Alentejo. It is also a gastronomic treasure and an invitation to pleasure. By pairing it with this wine, we combine two of the Alentejo's greatest symbols at the table.
