🍷 Pedra Cavada Reserva – Red Wine

A robust and elegant wine from the Douro Superior region, produced by Quinta da Pedra Cavada. Winner of the Great Gold Medal at the 2023 Brussels World Wine Competition , this Reserva red wine expresses power and finesse together.

• Grape varieties : Blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Francisca.

• Alcohol content : ~ 13.5% vol.

• Aged : 8 months in 225L French oak barrels + a minimum of 6 months in bottle.

Exam notes :
Deep ruby ​​color, with generous aromas of ripe red and black fruits, notes of forest floor, spices, and hints of vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it is round, with ripe and soft tannins, good texture, medium body, balanced acidity, flavorful and compact. Long finish, refined and elegant.

Pairing : Excellent with roasted or grilled meats, game dishes, lamb, pasta dishes with rich sauces, or stronger cheeses.

A white Reserva wine that perfectly captures the balance between fruit, freshness, and the subtle oak influences of the Douro region.

• Grape varieties : Gouveio, Viosinho and Rabigato.

• Aged : Approximately 6 months in 500L French oak barrels, with batonnage.

Exam notes :
Bright citrus yellow in color, with aromas of stone fruit, fresh pulp, and sweet vegetal notes, complemented by well-integrated woody touches. On the palate, it presents good volume and breadth, medium to almost full-bodied for a white wine, vibrant acidity, and a broad and pleasant finish. A "mid-season" white wine, ideal for those who appreciate structure without sacrificing freshness.
