Cartuxa rosé was produced from two plots of Touriga Nacional, planted in the vineyards of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. 10% of the batch fermented in used barrels, intensifying volume and unctuousness, with the remainder fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine associates its quality with the name of the Carthusian monks who, since 1598, have practiced a solitary life of prayer in the Convent of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, in Évora.

The Cartuxa brand is one of the main assets of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation and the current "umbrella" brand of Adega Cartuxa. The insignia reflects the identity of the Vinea, EA, Foral de Évora, Cartuxa, Scala Coeli wines and the legendary Pêra-Manca.
