Winemaking:
A 20-year-old is a high-quality Port wine, obtained by blending wines from different years, with an average age of 20 years, which appears tawny and with more evolved and concentrated flavors, due to the aging that normally occurs in 550-liter pipes.
Grape Varieties:
Old Vines
Tasting notes:
Amber-colored wine with brownish highlights. It presents a persistent and enveloping aroma due to its long aging in oak. Aroma of almonds, cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel. With a rich flavor and a velvety, smooth texture.
Storage and serving advice:
The bottle should be kept in an upright position, at a constant temperature, and away from direct intense light. Once opened, it should ideally be consumed within 18 to 20 weeks. Port wine is a natural wine, so it may form some natural sediment over time. Pour carefully to avoid it becoming cloudy. It should be served at a temperature between 14º and 16º C.
Food pairing:
It pairs very well with desserts based on chocolate, dried fruits, spices (cinnamon), and caramel. Also serve with coffee or chocolates.
