These wines associate their quality with the name of the Carthusian monks who, since 1598, have led a solitary life of prayer in the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli.
The red wines are based on the most common Alentejo grape varieties: Trincadeira, Aragonez, Alfrocheiro, Periquita, Moreto, and Tinta Caiada. Aged in oak, these wines are well-structured and elegant, combining the aromas of the varieties used with a persistent and complex flavor.
Cartuxa Red Reserva is the result of a careful selection of grape varieties from the oldest vineyard plots of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation.
