50 cl
Vol: 20th
A very old family recipe, in which milk is harmoniously combined with aromas of vanilla and tropical fruits.
This liqueur is traditionally made with brandy, honey, and various herbs, which can include ingredients such as lemon balm, ginger, and even plants with tonic properties. The name "Força no Pau" (Strength in the Stick) evokes the idea of vigor and energy, as in popular slang, the expression "força no pau" (strength in the stick) alludes to increased potency or vigor, often associated with virility.
The drink has a strong and quite sweet flavor due to the honey, but with a spicy touch from the herbs and spices used in its preparation. It is often consumed as a natural "tonic," believed to have energizing or even aphrodisiac effects, although, as with any liqueur, excessive alcohol consumption should be avoided.
It is also common to find this liqueur at popular festivals, traditional celebrations or as a "homemade recipe", passed down from generation to generation in many Portuguese families.
